​Born in France, Bettina Thomas began her career as a translator, but her lifelong love of creating soon drew her to couture and, ultimately, to couture millinery. She launched her brand in 2008 in Rome, where she was living at the time, and her debut collection received early recognition. Over the years, she studied with some of Europe’s most respected artisans, learning traditional techniques while cultivating a global perspective shaped by her travels and the places she has called home.

Bettina’s hats are beautiful beyond words. She does not use the word couture lightly, they are works of art.​

Now back in South Africa, Bettina works from her studio on a country estate near Cape Town, surrounded by breathtaking nature and mountain views, and regularly collaborates with South African designers. The elegance of her setting, together with the vibrant multicultural spirit of South Africa, continues to inspire designs that are both refined and original, carrying with them a sense of rarity and exclusivity.
